CHAMPIONING CANOGA PARK'S $30 MILLION ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM GRANT

Councilmember Blumenfield led the successful effort to secure a $31 Million grant for Canoga Park through the State’s Active Transportation Program (ATP), the second largest grant in the programs’ history. He helped plant the seeds years earlier by promoting a planning grant. The $31 million will fund transportation improvements throughout Canoga Park in neighborhoods near the Sherman Way Orange Line Station. The project includes new sidewalks, transit stops, low-traffic streets, connections to the LA River Path and more. This project is not only large in scale, but it also includes vital infrastructure upgrades that have been missing in Canoga Park, namely high-cost concrete work of adding sidewalks and curbs throughout the area.
